Walker, Henry - Henry Walker the former owner of what is now Llewellyn Park, died Friday night at Vernon, N.J. Aged eighty-five years. He was born at West Orange in 1806. He was the son of Jacob Walker, Captain of a coasting vessel, who was drowned in Newark Bay while Henry was a boy. He worked at farming and finally speculated in land. He bought a large tract where now stands Lewellyn Park and the famous Eagle Rock. He sold the Lewellyn property to S. Haskell, the founder of the park. Walker, Hollis Thayer- Hollis Thayer Walker died on Thursday at his residence, West Sixty eighth street. He was 35 years old and was the son of Phineas Walker, who fought in the war of 1812. Mr Walker was born in Brooklyn. He was graduated from the law department of Yale College, but his poor health prevented him from practicing law. He was a very good musician and French scholar. He was not married. The funeral will take place from the home and the burial will be at Greenwood. He was a General in the Indian War, was identified from time to time with railroad building and management, served several years as Circuit Judge, several terms as a member of both houses of the Legislature, was President of the State Senate, and was largely interested in many enterprises for the purpose of developing the State's resources.
