Hughes, George Wilson - Mr. George Wilson Hughes, an old resident of East Baltimore, died Saturday of pneumonia at his home, South Patterson Park Avenue, aged eighty-one years. He was for thirty-five years proprietor of the old White Hall Hotel, on Bank Street. He was a veteran volunteer fireman, and under Postmaster Johnson was a watchman in the post office. He was recently appointed special officer in Patterson Park, and while on duty caught cold, which developed into pneumonia. Mr. Hughes' wife died five years ago. The Baltimore Sun (MD) May 30, 1898

Hughes, Peter- Peter Hughes, who has had a produce stall in Belair market, corner Gay street, for the last twenty-five years, died yesterday at his home, North Eden street. His death was caused by a complication of diseases. He was born in Ireland in 1853 and came to this country about thirty years ago. A widow and three children survive him. Hughes, Richard - Mr. Richard Hughes, 97 years old, died at his residence, North Wolfe Street, Friday afternoon at 3 o'clock. Although very feeble, he had enjoyed good health until nearly two weeks ago, when he suffered a stroke of paralysis. The deceased was born in Ireland and came to Baltimore in 1849. Shortly afterward he went to Govanstown, where he lived until 10 years ago when he returned to Baltimore. For 35 years he was employed at the Sheppard and Enoch Pratt Hospital in Baltimore County. Mr. Hughes 55 years ago married Miss Margaret Hughes who died 10 years ago. Six children survive him-Messrs. Gilbert, John and Michael Hughes, Mrs. William Kelly, Mrs. Thomas McNicolas and Miss Elizabeth Hughes. There are 21 grandchildren and one great-grandchild. The funeral will take place Monday from St. Andrew's Catholic Church. Interment will be in St. Mary's Cemetery at Govanstown under the direction of Joseph J. Herr.
